Your task is to create a poster about McDonalds and Cultural Integration. You will be working in groups of no more than three. Your poster will be on one of the following topics: McDonalds’ Global Distribution: This group should include a map showing where McDonalds outlets are most found. It should also look at how McDonalds has adapted to other cultures, and any protests which have taken place to stop McDonalds from opening in particular places. McDonalds’ Contribution to Society: This group will examine some of the positive things McDonalds is involved in such as McHappy Day, Ronald McDonald House, donating to charities, supporting tree planting days, etc. You should also examine the benefits of McDonalds to the local economy of a place, e.g. jobs, etc Environmental impacts of fast food companies: This group should examine some of the impacts of the fast food industry such as their involvement in beef production and subsequent land clearing, how rubbish is disposed, the use of recyclable materials, etc. Social impacts of fast food companies: This group will examine the impacts of the fast food industry on issues such as childhood obesity, the provision of lunches and advertising in schools, decline in local businesses, employment issues.
